STM32 Dev Board Question
Hi All,
I’m new into embedded development but I’ve done PC programming for quite sometime (Java), I have some questions regarding development board and I found few that I’m interested (just to give you an idea of the kind of dev board I’m after here are 2 examples – Wholesale MINI STM32 Development board 512K FLASH 64K SRAM Development Board With 2.4″TFT LCD#E09039 and Wholesale STM32 Development Board +3.2 Inch Color LCD Module STM32F103VCT6 ARM Free Shipping, #E09033), my question is after creating an app how do I go about ‘uploading’ the program into the dev board ? besides hardware what software tool can I use to ‘flash’ the program into the dev board ?
Thanks for the help.
Cheers

Hi I want to write program and flash it on olimex stm32-h103 board Development and Prototype boards and tools for PIC AVR and MSP430. Which IDE and compiler should i use to program and programmer to flash the code on to the target?. I do not want to use any rtos, and want to program as simple Kiel programs. since i just have the board and the usb A-B type cable only ,I want to flash the target through usb. can the target be flashed through the usb only? The tutorial i followed just used the AVRISP mkII programmer to burn the hex files onto the mcu. Do you have to have a development board to program an avr mcu or can you just use the AVRISP mkII programmer. Does using a development board make it easier to test the finished code on the MCU? If so how do you know a development board is compatible with certain avr mcu's. A few days back I have purchased a STM32F103VET6 development board from ebay. I'm now trying to programming this board but I dont know where to start. I have also received a cd which contains some datasheets and some documents (all in chinese). Could someone tell me how to start? or have some source samples... Is JTag ICE can devug any arm development board that have a serial port? 2) I want to buy a cheap arm ICQ, development board and development tool, any suggestion? thanks from Peter (cmk128@hotmail.com)HiWe are starting a new project.we havve selected Cortex-M3 based STM32 from ST.My Question is what development tools should we select ?I have used Keil before for ARM7TDMI LPC21xx and it was very good.but now the Question is why to pay around 2000Euros for tools if you can use the GNU toolchain for free?or you can get a cheap development tools with Eclipse IDE for about 300$Can any one share with me his experice in selecting development environment?SalamHossam Alzomorwww(.)i-g(.)orgHi, I have just received a new Mini-STM32 board from here: http://au.suntekstore.com/goods-14002458-32inch+TFT+LCD+Module++Mini+STM32+Development+Board++USB+Cable.html I put together some sample code to, basically, flash an LED, tested it on a local debugger, no problems, ran it in the Keil uVision simulator software, all good, burned the binary to the chip using ST's Flash Loader demo, all was well, the light flashed normally; however, when I clicked the "Reset" button on the board, the app did not come back into operation (no activity at all on the board.) So, basically, if I re-burn the app and choose the "Jump to User Program" option in Flash ...I have been using a Keil MCBSTM32 demo board for many months. I've been using the ST flash loader to program the STM32 on the board with no problems. Today I made some (probably incorrect) modifications to my code, recompiled, and used the flash loader to program the STM32. Then I moved the BOOT0 jumper back to the normal operation position, cycled power, and saw that my program wasn't working. So I went back to my code, removed the changes I had just made, re-compiled, moved the BOOT0 jumper to the boot mode position, cycled power, ...I'm looking for a development board that will do the following: - ARM 7 or similar performance - 2Mb of flash - 1Mb of RAM - Interfaces for 1708 and 1939 - More than one serial port - Some digital I/O (preferably also analog) Does anyone know of something that has this on board? I'm more of a software guy than hardware guy, so I don't know where to look. When it is 'flashing' does it mean that it is 'storing' the program into the Flash memory ? 2. Are there any lifetime as how long you can keep on 'flashing' it (like how hard disk has a lifetime of X hours or X writes) ? 3. In terms of program execution when the development board starts up does it execute it directly in the ...I am undertaking an ambitious first step into PIC programming. I bought the Pic Pro7 board, and Mikobasic. I figured out a lot for myself, since many of the example programs referenced switches that I did not have, or did have, but were referenced by another identifier. I thought that as well as the product is put together, and how nice all the documentation is, I would have a small PDf, or booklet for the beginner. In any case, I want to start with a P12F683, and I am not sure if I can write the code in the Mikrobasic compiler, and ...Hello, I bought an ARGO-TMX570LS3137 development board to begin porting code we wrote for a TMS570LS20216 to the LS3. The first time I flashed my software over the original software int the development board it worked ok, but when I turned the board OFF and ON again, it's not working. Apparently a big part of the RAM seams to be protected and when my software accesses it a DATA an exception is generated. I believe there is a configuration that was present in the original board software that I don't have in mine. My question is: is the CodeWarrior Development Studio free to download to program the MCU? I tried looking at their website but it says the free version only allows for assembly programming is that true? Im newbie in assembly and it will be better if i can use C to program my board. Please Help! Thank youI have a source for a small (1.5") very inexpensive 96X64 LCD module. It requires a PCB to mount because of the zebra type connector. I'm considering making a development board like the DB101. My question is which AVR should I use on the board - if any? I'm thinking one of the 44 pin or 64 pin MEGAs. What do you think?Hi there! I just have no more use to my old phone that has this pretty awesome LCD 640x320 pixels... Is there anyway that I could interface it to the PIC? I am looking for a development board that works with Linux. That mean no Windows, not even virtualbox/vmware and no wine. What board can you advise me to buy? I just need something that works (can be programmed). I'm not looking for some kind of IDE. By this, I mean that I can use vi and a commandline if needed. For example, will the UNI-DS3 Development System (AVR or PIC) work for me? I know for example Adruino uses ATMEL and works on Linux. But ...I am heavily interested in Operating System theory and design and have decided I would like to play with developing an OS. I have a background in x86 assembly and have looked into ARM also. I would like a development board to develop the OS for. Has anyone had experience with OS development and/or can suggest some hardware to use? One board I am considering is the LPC1769 LPCXpresso board. I am aware I could use a VM, but I would like to use actual hardware.Hi all, I am planning to use Olimex STM32-H107 board. I could not find any example/reference code examples for this board. Even olimex website lists STM32-H103 code as example. Can any one point me to examples or any sample code developed for Olimex STM32-H107 board and is available free? Thanks for your help, saiMaddy1234I have a loginway PIC-01 Development board (it was sat in a cupboard for years). Does this board require additional adaptor hardware to blow a PIC (ICSP stuff etc), or can the on board serial port be used to do that?
