QuadCopter motor wiring
Hi everyone. I am in the process of building my first (over-priced) QuadCopter. I do not understand the motor wiring. I understand motors 1 and 4 rotate their propellers clockwise, while motors 2 and 3 go anticlockwise. But I do not understand the wiring. My motors each havethree coloured wires (Red, Yellow and Black). The motor controllers each have three wires the same colour (blue). I have studied the construction photos and, looking carefully, I am confused as to which is which and what goes where. I have seen other kits where the motor and control wires are all the same colour (black). Am I missing some technical understanding?
I cannot test motor control and rotation, as I am awaiting a battery. My kit from Flycam, Korea, did not come with one.

Hello, I checked Invenscience web page and there is little info on their 12V Torxis motors which are also being sold here through Lynxmotion. What are the aditional two wires that connect to such motor. Except red, yellow and black that should go to controllers, there are aditional two. Do these two go to 12V source and red/yellow/black are just for signals from controllers such as SSC-32 ? Considering that SSC-32 is 6V output and Torxis motor is 12V, do those two aditional wires provide some kind of amplification for 3 wires from 6V SSC-32 controller or what ? Is it ...Hi, I am trying to interface with a stepper motor, but I am having trouble with this particular stepper motor, it has 8 wires, from what I've read, it can be wired as a unipolar or bipolar (series, parallel). The motor is a Tamagawa TS3166N913. In the nameplate it says 4.3 ohm/0.9 deg/step 400s/r Their website no longer has the datasheet for this particular motor. I snagged two 24v "Pride Mobility Jazzy Jet 2" motors from ebay, but despite my best efforts to figure out how to wire them to 24v, I simply can not get the correct information.... even from Pride Mobility! Using this website (http://www.scribd.com/doc/24698262/Rj12-and-Lego-Nxt) I have tested the wires by plugging the un-striped end into my mindstorms, turning the motors on and testing the output with a multimeter. The results are from 1.2 to 4.5 . I would like to build a line following robot with these motors and a photo cell. I want to make sure that the motors will work. I was looking at the wiring diagram trying to figure out how to put a extra motor on and i was thinking we could ...I've noticed on my motors and a lot of other motors that having the motors above the quadcopter means that the max lift capacity relies on the little C-Clip under the motor shaft which leads me to my question, would it not be better to mount the motors under the arms so the thrust will push the motor together rather than pull it apart when mounted above. Would there be any negative effects from mounting the motors under the arms ?
