Propeller DEMO : (14.5 Meg Baud) High Speed Prop-to-Prop Serial Communication
Ok, beta testers… I have run this DEMO and tested over 100 Billion data Bits with no Transmission Errors over the distance of 10 feet from one Propeller to another Propeller.
Here is a beta release before I place it in the object exchange.

With the beta of Propeller GCC, and in the announcement of the beta of Propeller GCC the mention of 'all the development will be fed into Propeller II', I have some questions about the future that perhaps someone from Parallax can answer. I apologize in advance if this is answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it. - With the advent of GCC for the Propeller, will further development continue on SPIN for the propeller, and more importantly will Propeller 2 be a GCC / Assembler only chip. I have an old BPI-216 serial LCD that I used to use for Stamp projects and now I want to use for a Propeller project. But I cant seem to get it to work with the Propeller at all. The LCD works fine with my Stamps and in its test mode. Each Propeller has a specific mandate (and many concurrent tasks are done by each propellers). I am trying to get a simple communication between two Propellers (a Propeller Demo Board and a PE Kit). I am using the FullDuplex Serial object to send a series of bytes from one Prop to the other and display using the Parallax Serial Terminal object. I've succeeded in most respects, but I'm having a frustrating time figuring out some extraneous (and or dropped) characters at the receiving Prop. My suspicion was improper buffering or timing. I've tried all kinds of insertion of delays on the ...Will the Propeller fail to be detected if the eeprom is bad/missing? I just wired up a board to use the Propeller chip that I got in the "Mystery Bag". I had checked all the voltages and checked for shorts and everything looked good. I then plugged in the Prop and the eeprom but somehow when doing that one of the LM317 resistors broke and both chips saw 6+ volts. I fixed the problem and replaced the Propeller but I don't have another eeprom. The Propeller Tool still doesn't detect a Prop. Last March there were several changes to the front end of both the Receiver and the Transmitter in the way that the handshaking took place. Before you had to make sure that the Receiver was up and running ...I have been working with the "jm_i2c" Object; to connect several devices to the Propeller. The Object appears not to observer the NAK status in any useful fault tolerant way. For example, when a I2C peripherals miss-behaves (or is dead/missing) the object saturates the I2C bus with "wait(id)" output and never gives up. With my LCD Display on the same I2C bus, useful system diagnostic information that could have been displayed is lost, or stuck, in the blizzard. Has anyone expanded the "jm_i2c" object to be more flexible and fault tolerant? The Prop shield will actually be my main board/controller for my robot. I only what the UNO to send commands to the Prop(some kind of string of data). Basically I can write a simple C program and the Prop does all the work. I'm thinking SPI object or some other serial object is the way to get these to to talk. I really haven't seen anything like this before. I think this is the way to go? ThanksHey, I've been using the Propeller Tool for a while now; I suppose about two years. I always opened up the serial communicator, but not really knowing what it was for. I knew I could reset the Prop from the PC, but that was it. I see now that there is a serial communications object here for comm between the Prop and the serial terminal in the Prop Tool. Want to combine Propeller, for easy programming, SSD1963 for VGA graphics, and VNC2 for USB interface. Going to attempt to use FT232RL (or maybe FT231X) to program both Prop and VNC2. Also, going to try using 2X SQI chips on the 8-bit data bus of the SSD1963 to allow direct transfer between the two.
