Need to Learn Touch Screen Programming….Can You Suggest?
I am needing to develop small and quite simple touchscreen programs. Small applications where you have a very simple GUI where you touch things like “motor ON”/”motor OFF” icons for input/output through an AVR chip. Oh, should add I can’t leave the touch screen in the “development board”…it has to be part of a final solution I leave with my hardware for my customers. I’m pretty good with AVR programs, but I only use assembly code…nothing higher, so I know that will have to most likely change with whatever route you all suggest.
I haven’t the faintest how to start learning this stuff and which development tool to buy? I have read about Mikroelektronika, but not sure if this EasyAVR6 is worth it?
I’m not a VB or Visual Studio programmer, so I was hoping for something that can help me get quick and not too dirty touch apps out there for some of my easier projects. I know I would need to buy some sort of development kit.

Hi guys, this is my second post and I am already having a lot of fun, all my curiosity is coming out. I saw this movie Iron Man, and ever since his touch screen switch board, I've been meaning to create my own, but again, I don't know how to go about it. My first question is - How is display achieved on a touch screen phone -- since we all using iPhones and Androids these days? If I were to create to my own such a dummy touch screen display, how should I go about it? About this touch screen switch board, ...Hi, I am looking for development board with AVR and touch screen for few easy aplication, can you help me which one I would choose? I need (over 2.8 touch screen, memory SD or internal interface RS232 or USB and duplex pins for logic inputs outputs etc.) I need many tutorials and big software support.ThanksHi, I'm trying to find a development kit (or some hardware I can put together) with the following - Color display (approximately 5-6" diameter), Touch screen, and at least one part of the screen will need to be useful for signature capture. I'm not sure if this part will be on the screen or separate, I'm looking for advice here. Can someone point me in the right direction or suggest some useful search terms? :) Thanks, --buddyhi i want to interface sum touch screen lcd with my controller acttually i want to communicate with my car using obd2 my basic aim is to revieve data from car n display it on lcd and to send data from my controler and i want to use the touch screen as my interface ... i have no idea abt the touch screen interface can u please tell me which touchscreen wud b best for me or any development environment for tht purpose??Hi, I have directly connected all 4 channels of touch screen to ATmega32 ADC PORTA. Can we generate some kind of interrupt when touch screen is touched, then we can read the value from the ADC pins of controller. Or we have to poll after every 10 msec to check if touch screen is touched or not. Please suggest. regards, katochHey guys, Ia m new to EasyPIC6 development board and after reading the user manual i tried to set up the touch screen but it won't take any input, a quick search on google didn't help me more :s. The LCD screen works well though. I've setted ON SW9.5 through 8 and off SW9.1 through 4. I'm using the example code "Calibration then write on screen". Please let me know what will we be useful for you to try to indicate me what i do wrong thank you!I think the MSP-EXP430F5438 development board should be a good environment to develop my system. Here is the page with all the drivers for the touch screen will any of these be suitable? http://www.touchkit.com/Drivers.htm I intend to run my ras pi in my car as a media hub possibly running xbmc the touch screen feature would make this set up perfect. Is any of what I think possible?Hi, I have been developing systems using 8 bit PIC micro-controllers. I use a C compiler to develop programs for this. Now I would like to start on ARM based devices. Could anyone suggest a low cost development/evaluation board that has a generous mix of devices like LEDs, push buttons, a LCD screen etc. Please also recommend a suitable C compiler that can be used to develop programs for the development board. An open source compiler would be preferable, later I intend to buy a good C compiler for commercial work. thanks a Note: I have browsed through Keil MDK site, the range of evaluation ...Hello, I hate to bother you, but I had some questions on this MikroE system. I need to figure out how to make my own custom GUIs on little touchscreens to turn on/off motors, external devices and such. Mostly simple applications, like LED lighting, motors, so I don't really need super complicated powerful systems, but somewhat configurable would be good. One thing I need is a status change on the touch screens when something external happens....example: a digital input detects a machine door is open, so the screen displays "DOOR OPEN". I am wondering if with this MikroE (I was leaning toward ...hiii Engineers i am working on project controlling motor from a touch GLCD( LEFT - RIGHT - START - STOP - PAUSE and display how manny revolution done. need some help 1- how to use the touch pannel ? 2- how to programing the Atmega 16 to where i touch on screen ? i degined a form to desplay it on LCD but it's touch doesn't work.My project is to make a device which should be used by its touch screen. Please correct ...I have several question regarding the TMS570 development board which I purchased from TI. 1. According to the Keil website, the development kit comes preprogrammed with the board confidence test and demo application which is available on the DVD that comes in the kit. Is this application available to those of us that purchased the board from TI instead of Keil? This would be a good example of how to interface to the touch screen. If not, is there any thing else that can help explain how to use the touchscreen? 2. Are there any example programs or documentation on ...Hi, I'm developing my first touch screen application with the FEZ Cobra and the 3.5" touch screen module (EMX Firmware Version 4.1.3.0). I have found that when touching controls, sometimes other controls get selected (always above and to the left of the touched control). To investigate I ran the Ink Canvas sample and found that a firm press draws in the correct place. However if you use a soft touch or are slow in applying the touch the resulting coordinates returned by the touch screen are somewhere between the touched location and the top left of the screen. To me this sounds ...
