Embedded Linux on ARM Platform
I have ARM Platform evaluation board (ARM integrator/CP amp ARM 920T
Processor) in my office.
I am a newbie in this area, so just wondering if I can utilise the
above platform to be operated under embedded linux OS. (ucLinux or
How to upload the embedded linux OS to the above platform ?
FYI, the platform is connected to my PC using multi ICE interface. I
use this interface to upload all of my C Code to the platform.
Anyone can direct me to some useful URL ?

Hi, I have few clarification regarding Linux. Why do many peoples prefer Linux as platform for designing embedded. Which Linux OS should we begin with it. Is it similar to windows kind of(like programming IDE, debugging, Burning the code etc).Happy to know that software will be available soon :) Are there any plans to have the software for Linux platform, with GUI or (even better) a high-level API (library)? It would have interesting advantages, like the possibility to use a lightweight (embedded) linux system as master module to drive more advanced functionalities. If any plan about it, I would be glad to beta-test it. ChrisHi, I would like to try embedded Linux on my 5282 Eval board. I am lost as for the tools and compiler that I need to achieve this task. Presently I am using CodeWarrior development suite. I downloaded the Linux BSP for 5282 (m5282evb-3.0-2004116.iso). The document mentions Platform Creation Suite (PCS)? 1) Where can I download embedded Linux for my 5282 board? 2) What compiler do I need to be able to run embedded Linux on my 5282 Eval board? ...I want to port linux to arm processor. I have looked at using a dsPIC33E/F, an AVR UC3B, and several mcu's based on the Cortex M3/4, as well as a couple others. I am fairly new to the MCU world and am wondering which is the best platform to choose? I do not want this to be a PIC vs ARM vs AVR thread as there are many of those out there already. Any help or pointer on programming documentation would be great. Thanks.hi guys i m an ece student and i have done my project in embedded systems. in that i have AT89S52 micro controller and the software used is keil micro vision. now i have a question whether the keil software and embedded c is platform independent or dependent. please help meHi all, I thought I'd share a little bit of work I've done with the ST7565 driver - I was using the display on an Arduino platform but migrated to one of the XMega platforms - this one is Boston Android's USB Lite board. I didn't find any specific ports to the XMega platform, so I took the straight C folder from Adafruit's distro and started working with it under the WinAVR environment. There were a few differences on this platform, but just about all of the functions work once the basic SPI details are sorted. I was wondering to whom I ...Hi to all: I am new to this and would like to start with the Arduino, I have basic experience with Micrchip 18F4550, however I would like to migrate to Arduino'm thinking about the ATmega 2560 is the newest and think big and with more I / O, without But before buying I would like to know: How good is Arduino Control applications and / or robotics mostly handle multiple engines at once? I am looking for a robot platform similar to iRobot's iCreate platform. I want something that already contains the motors, wheels, controller, servos, etc ready for use with an arduino. I want to be responsible for interfacing sensors to the robot platform, programming the Arduino for robot movement, progamming the servos, etc., I'm just not very interested in spec'ing the robot motors, encoders, servos, chasis, etc. I've googled a lot trying to find a "generic" arduino robot platform, but ...LinuxDevices.com has just published its latest weekly Embedded Linux Newsletter, with all the latest news and info from the exciting world of Embedded Linux and Linux-based gadgets. I am trying to measure energy spent by CPU performing some task on embedded platform running Linux (like moving a file, or compressing something.. etc). At this moment, I have collected sampled DC voltage across this inductor by soldering some small wires to both ends of inductor and using DAQ to sample the data. How can I get from this collected data current and energy? Previously, I have used same method to measure total energy usage, from power source (power adapter cable) of embedded platform. And to get current, I ...
