  • All IRS databases now controlled by Propellers! Just revealed.

My team has been working for several years incorporating 500 Propellers as the master controlling system over ALL IRS computer processes. Unfortunately we cannot reveal any schematics or code, as that would put at risk the security scheme in place behind this massive Multi-Propeller-Machine(MPM).

The team can take select questions regarding the MPM, but will only respond to serious questions, and only in cases where we feel that the integrity of the system is not being compromised. In other words, you will not get a response regarding the code, how the Props communicate, how the Props interface to the IRS super computers, or schematics, or what the Props really do in their role of oversight of the IRS supercomputers. But, if interested in IRS data, such as amounts collected by the IRS per a given year or quarter, we can provide that info, because the MPM has actually done all the calculations and we can post the results. Basically, anything to do with the IRS that is public knowledge already on google, we can provide that to you. Please do not ask for clock speeds of the Prop, that is not available to the public. We have special sub zero cooling systems that allow astronomical speeds on the Prop(gigahertz).

We thought this was pretty exciting news, considering the resulting sales of Propellers will be enormous.

Hello, The problem I want to address: I want to build a robot that will run 5 Propellers in parallel. Each Propeller has a specific mandate (and many concurrent tasks are done by each propellers). Prop. 1- Control motors to move the robot Prop. 2- Power management Prop. 3- Image analysis (1 camera) Prop. 4- Sensors data analysis (distance, ...) Prop. 5- General tasks + robot mission Propeller should be able to communicate directly with any other Propeller at any time. Actually, I need (would like) to create a "fully connected network of Propellers". I think I2C is probably the ...
  • Our Scandinavian electronics distributor ELFA stocks Propeller micro controllers. However they hide the fact quite well. Clicking through their WEB page links for microcontrollers or micro processors will not find an Propellers or even Parallax as an MCU manufacturer. Oh no, the Props are burried away under these links: Electronics amp Automation gt Embedded / Wireless / Education gt Kits / Prototyping amp Development Boards gt Breadboards / Kits gt Propeller Microcontrollers Perhaps someone at Parallax could get ELFA to put the Props in the correct place. Also ELFA gives almost no information on the Prop in their listing not even MIPS, RAM space, ...

To study the nature of randomness in a digital processor network using the same clock source, 54 prop chips were all connected to a master prop. The master prop holds the eeprom, and accepts prop plug input for memory/program download. The master prop controls the reset and clock lines for all 54 props. The master prop also sends all combinations of a word out broadcast to all 54 props that are connected bus network style. When a ...
Okay, while looking around on the forums I have seen multiple starts for an operating system for the propeller. Now before I get started, I will say that I have ZERO coding knowledge for the propeller, only knowledge of the basic stamp as far as coding goes. Okay, speed up to today's computing environment and you'll see 1000MHz bus lines, gigabytes of storage, and so much more. 3D graphics running at multiples of frames per second, data traveling across the country in milliseconds, and even more. While we can't come close to doing that with the propeller, or propellers, we can ...
I am considering making a PCB that used an array of propellers, perhaps starting out with 4 the moving on to more. Questions: 1.) Is it so simple that I could share the xtal and eeprom?. So the PCB would have 4 props, 1 xtal, 1 eeprom. My concern would be boot up and eeprom, and capacitance for the xtal, but this may have already been accomplished. 2.) Could I PWM a I/O pin using the 4 propeller array but timing them so that each propeller pulses right after the previously one so that its 4 times faster than a single ...
Can I use the fullduplexserialplus to have two props communicate and pass data back and forth. I've tried, but don't get good results. I've also tried the fast inter-propellor-communication file from the OBEX, but can;t get my props talking that way either. Any suggestions ?
I have started a project that requires a lot of nodes talking to a few parallax propellers. Do to cost reasons I can't use propellers for everything so I was trying to find a cheaper controller for the nodes. I was thinking of using the: PIC16F616T-I/SL The chip is only $0.9159 each which would be a great price if it will do what I need. I want to connect a SHT10, a 0 to 5V analog input, 2 digital inputs,1 digital output, and some kind of serial communication back to a prop(1 to 3 wire less wires is better as it means more ...
Hello all you quadcopter people, I just recently built my first quadcopter (not from a kit). It works great except my flights are always less than 30 seconds because my propellers keept snapping when the silver screw caps holding them on unscrew themselves. The first few times I think was due to the fact that I didn't balance the props even though I was using the 12x4.5. After I started balancing my props the vibration of the legs stopped but the caps would still sometimes unscrew themselves regardless of the lock-tight I used. And when the caps come ...
Yes, this is a continuation of my Multi-Propeller-configurations-with-PropForth-v-5.0 thread but who could resist getting to use a thread title like "Five Forths Propeller Platform"? Underneath is a Gadget Gangster Propeller Platform USB giving me one propeller, power and an SD card. On top is one of jazzed's Tetra-Props giving me 4 Propellers in a nice compact (PP-USB compatable) footprint. Giving me FIVE Propellers Each Propeller was loaded with a copy of PropFORTH....so it's FIVE FORTHS! Ok, enough of that. I am researching hardware for an upcoming project I will be working on. I want to tie into my vehicle and build a security and convenience system. The hardware I will likely be using is a Freescale i.mx6 quad 1ghz ARM compatible processor with a 7" touch screen control under Android 4.02. I need something to interface into the vehicle components and the Propeller sounds like the best way to do this. I will likely try to do as much as I can with the Propeller to save programming needed on the ARM. I am looking at using 1 Propeller ...
Hi there, I'm using the Props 80MHz counter on a custom board for a capacitive sensor system. I managed to use one cog to continously take measurements and set a pin if some threshold value is exceeded. For maintenance purposes I use another Cog to listen to the COM port and wait for user commands like e.g. report the last sensor value to the terminal. For an industrial project, I need to connect up to 10 or more of these sensor boards to a PC. I'd like to be able to select a certain Prop/Sensor and ask it for several values, ...
Attention solderers, Forgive me but I am quite new to this little piece of art (the prop) but as my home is a 1-wire tangle of sensors and switches with a PC master controlling it all, I thought props in different configurations could make some of my unfulfilled whishes come through as eg a 1-wire power meter slave. To the question; Is there any 1-wire generic tweakable slave s/w developed for the propeller? I know there are some master ditto, but I am looking for code making the prop a 1-wire slave. Anyone seen any? Mille graize!
Hi everybody! Recently I got a couple of the 4x4 input matrices from the store (http://www.parallax.com/Store/Access...9/Default.aspx). I got them, hooked em up to the prop just as it says in the prop object that's given on that page. I was quite disappointed to find that only some of the buttons actually work right. I thought that it might just be a bad one, so I tried the second one I got, same results. So I thought it might be a bad pin or something on the prop (although all of the pins work depending upon the combo), so I tried it ...
Here are the results from a test I did using the propellers I had on-hand when paired with an RCTimer BC3536-9. The RCTimer 30A ESC was calibrated at 1050 Low and 1850 High. Each prop was mounted and the throttle signal ran up to 1.5ms (1500) and the amperage and thrust measurements recorded. The 1.5ms value (Mid-stick) was used because that is the idea hover point for a Multi-rotor copter. Prop Test Results
Now that we have PropForth v5.0, my experimenting can commence in earnest. (This is not intended to be a "Baby Brain" type thread.) For a long time, since my RCA COSMAC 1802 days, I have had an interest in Forth and other threaded, interpreted type languages. From the start of my professional career (ca. 1980), I have had an interest in multi-processor systems, having started with Sperry-Univac and their multi-processor 1100 series of mainframes. Now, through the Propeller and PropForth, I can spend my free time exploring both of these strange interests. Some or all of this may be of little interest ...
Hello folks. I'm new here. I'm a Canadian prop builder, and I'm interested in learning how to add electronics to my display and show props. I just picked up the KampR "C Programming Language" books, and I had a questions about moving to AVR's. I called my local electronics store, but they could only suggest a kit for Basic (which I'm not so hot on). I understand that I only need a passing knowledge of C for the kinds of electronics I'm looking to build (flashing lights, audio bits, and the like). The question I had is this: How far ...
I should have released this sooner... the "Saturday robotics club" that I participate in has a project going on where this is a perfect fit, and after cleaning it up a bit I thought I would pass it along. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here is a derivative of the high speed 8.42 Meg Baud (1.05 Million Bytes per second) Prop-to-Prop communication that I wrote some time ago. Last March there were several changes to the front end of both the Receiver and the Transmitter in the way that the handshaking took place. Before you had to make sure that the Receiver was up and running ...
I've been searching online for about a week trying to find larger than 16" CF CC/CCW props, and I've pretty much given up in locating anything larger. You can find some larger 20"+ but they are extremely heavy (100+g per prop) and no CCW. Mejzlik has some awsome light props, but no CCW, and they are really expensive. So; why not use this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__23934__Metal_Tail_Assemb... Strip it down and mount it direcly and lock the pitch in (you could even make them variable if needed, but take the gearing out). Wouldn't ...
i have been trying to think of what the best infinitly expandable topology would be that can be cheaply be made on PCB. Best I can think of so far is a 11 prop mesh topology on a pcb with each of the props also having a full duplex serial link to the board on each of the 6 sides of a cube. this would use all 32 pins. I could make this using qfp parts relatively cheaply. Pros: *full mesh on pcb means each prop is 1 hop away on pcb *external links on all 6 sides means any number of boards can ...
hey people, i was wondering if all i had to do to sync up 4 props is tie the xtal to 1 then just tie the XI pins together to easily get 4 props in sync. any ideas? also any ideas on best (or simplest partwise) how to ensure resets start the 4 props in sync... or is this even a problem if the props are already hooked up to same xtal and reset lines are tied together? blake
